I am İlayda Aydın, a Turkish psychologist living in Amsterdam, and I offer online therapy in Turkish or English to adults anywhere in the Netherlands. You do not need a GP referral and there is no waiting list. A 50-minute session costs €90. We can start with a free 20-minute video call to see whether we are a good fit.

Why therapy in your own language helps
If you grew up with Turkish, the feelings that matter most were often first felt in Turkish. Talking about them in Dutch or English can mean translating as you go, and the heart of it can get lost on the way. In your own language you can say what you mean, use the words your family used, and be understood without explaining everything.
You can also move between Turkish and English, even within one session. Whatever feels most natural is the right language.
Who I work with
I work online with adults, wherever they live in the Netherlands.
- People who moved from Turkey for work, study or love and are finding their footing here
- People who grew up in the Netherlands with Turkish at home, living between two cultures
- People who followed a partner to the Netherlands and are adjusting to the change
- Anyone dealing with anxiety, panic, burnout, low self-esteem or recurring relationship patterns
- People who would rather not go through their GP or wait for months
How we work together
My practice is integrative. With Schema Therapy we look at long-standing patterns and where they began. CBT gives you practical tools for the week between sessions, and mindfulness helps you stay with difficult feelings without being swept away by them. We start gently and go at your pace.

Online, anywhere in the Netherlands
All sessions take place over Google Meet. You can join from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Eindhoven or anywhere else in the Netherlands, from a place where you feel at ease and will not be disturbed.
A psychologist who knows the Dutch system
I live and work in the Netherlands and completed my MSc at Maastricht University, so I know how things work here: the huisarts, basic and supplementary insurance, the eigen risico and the waiting lists. We are also in the same time zone, which makes regular sessions easy to plan.
My practice is private: no referral, no diagnosis on file and no waiting list, but sessions are self-paid. The fees page explains both routes so you can choose what suits you.

Look for three things: a psychologist who can work in Turkish when you want to, an approach that suits what you are dealing with, and clear fees and registration. Then trust how the first conversation feels. That is why I offer a free 20-minute intro call: you can hear how I work before you decide anything.
